CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING IRELAND
Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) is the national organisation
representing, promoting and developing co-operative housing in
Ireland. Since our foundation in **Apply on the website** we have

shared ownership and social rented co-operatives. As an Approved
Housing Body (AHB), we work with various stakeholders in the housing
sector, including Local Authorities, Government, aspiring homeowners,
tenants and developers. We currently manage over 3,**Apply on the
website** homes across Ireland as well as providing a network of
childcare services in our communities.
1. ROLE
CHI is seeking a ?Loans Officer? to join the Asset and Loans Team
within our Finance Department on a full-time, permanent basis.
The role will work closely with the Asset and Loans Manger, within the
Finance team. The Asset and Loans Team manage the purchase of social
housing properties, the funding streams for these property purchases,
manage lease payments, and the management of grants applications and
income streams from various Local Authorities. This involves analysis,
forecasting, reporting, credit control, regulatory returns, and
audits.
The successful candidate for this role will learn all aspects of these
duties and will become responsible for the processing, reporting and
reconciliation of this information. The social housing sector is
experiencing huge growth so we are looking for someone motivated, who
will fit in with our team, who is interested in working in the housing
sector, is keen to learn and has a good work ethic.
The role will be based in our Head Office located at **Apply on the

there is a possibility of some remote working on a temporary basis.
2. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supporting the maintenance of the Asset and Loans and Lease
Registers.
* Process and allocate Bank receipts and payments.
* Processing Bank Reconciliations.
* Processing monthly journals.
* Posting loan repayments and accruals
* Month End Reconciliation, reporting and analysis.
* Work closely with various internal departments and external
stakeholders e.g. Finance, Development, Local Authorities, Department
of Housing, Housing Finance Agency and others.
* Liaise with relevant departments regarding collection activities
related to our income streams.
* Assist in collection of outstanding monies by appropriate means.
* Resolve and expedite queries to facilitate payment.
* Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and
quarterly reporting.
* Budget and Cashflow forecasting and variance reporting.
* Other relevant duties as directed by the Asset & Loans Manager.
3. REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
* 2+ years' relevant experience in mortgage lending, banking, or real
estate industry in a similar role.
* Strong I.T. skills to include Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Strong analytical and organisational skills with attention to
detail essential.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to
multi-task and work on own initiative.
* Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
* At minimum; Leaving Cert standard English & Maths.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Able to adapt and work towards different goals as and when
required.
* Assertive but diplomatic.
Desirable:
* Qualifications in banking or real estate finance.
* Experience with general accounting/banking/real estate software
* Experience in the Housing/Property/Accounting/Finance/Banking or
I.T. industries preferred.
* Interest in Data Analysis.

PENSION
Co-operative Housing Ireland offers a defined contribution pension
scheme. Employees have access to the scheme on successful completion
of their six-month probationary period.
TRAVEL & SUBSISTENCE
Travel and subsistence will be paid at public sector rates.
ANNUAL LEAVE

public holidays), plus an additional 3 Privilege days per year.
E-WORKING ALLOWANCE
Electronic Working Allowance is paid daily for remote working during

training/education courses are supported by the Organisation.
